Rally Reykjavik 2010

Rally Reykjavik 2010 is scheduled to have the same general structure as the 2009 event had. We will stick to the Reykjanes peninsula and Borgarfjordur areas, with some new stages and some changes to the stages last year. The event details are going to be published in the near future, but, the 2010 event promises to be even more challenging that the 2009 one was.

The organisers have decided to run an alternative fuel classes in the 2010 event. Detailed definations of the classes will be posted shortly, but hybrid cars, methane, hydrogen, E85, etc will be eligible. It has also been decided that electric only cars, can compete in a reduced length, special stage, rally - quite possibly for the first time.

We are in negotiating with shipping companies servicing Iceland and will shortly post the relevant information under transportation on the sidebar.

The FIA has confirmed the 2010 event will be part of the FIA Alternative Energies Cup. We are working on updating this website, hoping it will be in "the air" quite soon.
