Competitors

The 2011 event builds on the traditions set in previous years. The event is a three day event run out of Reykjavik, going to the Reykjanes Peninsula, the area around Mt. Hekla givig competitors a glimpse of the infamous Eyjafjallajökull. The last day will see the competition head towards Borgarfjörður, before reaching the finish in Reykjavik. This gives a really challenging event for both cars and crews alike.

As last year the 2011 event will offer more than just the normal special stage rally of previous years. There will be an alternative fuel class within the main event.

The event will also host a round of the FIA Alternative Energies Cup of 2011, which is a combination regularitpy rally and eco-driving.

An idea has been put forth in hosting a regularity rally for historic cars, extending the route the FIA Alternative Energies Cup follows and adding driving tests.

So, no matter if it is special stage rallying, road rallying, historic cars or green motorsport, this is the event to do.
