Route description

Onto Hesthals and then straight on road 1 towards the North of Iceland. Turn rigth on road 36 going all the way to Þingvellir, then left on 550 following it past the entry to Skogarholar farm.

SS-16 Bolabás norður

''Drive road 550 to end of tarred road.
For corners at the start of this stage large lorry tires will be placed on the inside of the corners. This is done to minimise cutting corners thus preventing the tarred surface chipping even more than it is now.''

Continue on road 550 to where it meets the old road 52 meet. Turn left to the start.

SS-17 Tröllháls / Uxahryggir

Old road 52 driven, turning left onto 550 and then again left onto 52 to the first farm in Lundarreyjadalur.

Continue along road 52 and then right to road 50. Continue along 50 turning left on 516 stopping at the far end of the air strip.

SS-18 Stóri Kroppur

Continue on 516 until just before joining 50 again.

Turn left onto 50 and then right on 518 allt the way to 550, turning right there.

SS-19 Kaldidalur

Along 550 until just before junction with 52.

Continue on 550 turning right on old 52 starting just after the junction.

SS-20 Tröllháls

Along old road 52 to the start of SS-20.

Road section between SS-19 and SS-20 in the opposite direction.

SS-21 Bolabás suður

Continue on 550 turning right on 36 and then left on 360 to 435 on the right starting just after the turn off.

SS-22 Hengill vestur

SS-5 driven in the opposite direction

Continue on road Nesjavallavegur and then road 431. Turn left onto road 1 following that turning right onto 417. Follow that turning left onto road 42 to Sveifluháls ridge starting at the top.

SS-23 Kleifarvatn suður

SS-2 driven in the opposite direction.

The road section between SS-1 and SS-2 driven in the opposite direction.

SS-24 Djúpavatn norður

SS-1 driven in the opposite direction. Please note there will be a chicane going through the grated gate on road 427. The chicane overlaps by 1m and a distance of 7m between them.

Turn left onto road 42 following it to Hvaleyrarvatn turn off on the right. Turn again right following the road to just before Hvaleyrarvatn. Then right at the large house by the lake, starting just after house. Service is not allowed after turning off road 42

SS-25 Hvaleyrarvatn

The road driven to Kaldárselsvegur.

Continue onto Kaldárselsvegur following it past all the stables. Service is not allowed until after the junction with road 410. Turn right onto road 41 following it before turning right onto Hafnarfjardarvegur at Engidalur. Continue to along that and Kringlumýrarbraut to the Grand Hotel.
